He’s
Fabio Cannavaro, one of the strongest defenders of the world, the key person in the famous
"catenaccio" – with Nesta, Maldini and Iuliano.
He arrived young in the team of Parma from the Napoli – but he has already been full of physical maturity and technique.
With AC Parma he won 1 UEFA Cup (1998/99), 1 Italian Cup (1998/99) and 1 Super Cup of the League (1999).
He’s a
star – but hasn’t forgotten his roots and friends. He was 8 years old when he
first played on the pitches at Agnano, near Naples as a midfielder. But playing soccer is
a tradition in his family also his father played football in Serie C and now Fabio’s
brother, Paolo too, but in Serie A.
Fabio’s first match in Serie A was against Juventus, where he was very nervous.
Even if he’s now the player of the Inter, in his heart he
remains always a Neapolitan. His favourite stadium is the San Paolo and he misses the sea
in Parma. Where the city is very quiet during the week and the people are less tolerant on
the roads.
The Brazilian women voted him the best-looking footballer – anyway he’s married with Daniela and they have two children.
He likes eating out, going to the cinema. He likes if his friends are easy-going. In a woman only one thing is important that she doesn’t talk about football. He likes dressing conservatively and sportly. He likes cooking, he’s a "modest" chef: he prepares his own special pizza "alla Cannavaro" with lots of mozzarella.

He’s a funny man, full of jokes, but he can be also serious. He knows that his soccer carrier is a fortune, otherwise could have been problems to find a job, like other young people. He knows that the football is also about the business, and unfortunately not only about the game. He hates the ethnic conflicts in the world.
