History of the Team

On the 9th of 1922, as soon as the century began, Luigi Bigiarelli founds the Societin Podistica Lazio. The colors are inspired by Greece, country of the Olympic Games. White and Sky Blue. For two years, the team joins all the running competitions of the country. It's only in 1902 that the team turns to soccer, thanks to Bruto Seghettini, of Racing Club of Paris. In thirties, the Lazio is at the top. The greatest italian forward, who holds the record of 143 goals, Silvio Piola plays in the team. The first trophy arrives only in 1958. The Lazio of Bernardini (coach) and Lovati (captain) wins the Italian Cup, defeating the Fiorentina in final round. The second trophy arrives only 16 years later, in 1974, when the team wins the championship.. Their second Italian Cup in 1998 allows them to win the last Cup winners cups in 1999.
